The NovaUltra Alcian Blue Stain Kit is formulated for demonstrating strongly acidic mucosubstances in tissue sections. With the supplied staining system, acidic mucosubstances appear blue, nuclei range from pink to red, and cytoplasm is pale pink. The kit is suitable for formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections and may also be used on frozen sections. It includes 250 mL each of Alcian Blue Solution and Nuclear Fast Red Solution.
