The NovaUltra von Kossa Alcian Blue Stain Kit combines von Kossa and Alcian Blue methods to demonstrate bone and cartilage matrix deposition on the same tissue section. Bone is stained black to deep brown, cartilage blue, and nuclei pink-red. The kit is intended for formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue and may also be used with frozen sections. It includes silver nitrate, sodium thiosulfate, Alcian Blue, and Nuclear Fast Red solutions.
