The NovaUltra Congo Red Stain Kit is a modified Highman's Congo Red method for demonstrating amyloid in tissue sections. It is intended for formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue and may also be used with frozen sections. Amyloid deposits are stained red and nuclei blue. The source recommends sections around 5 µm thick, with 10 µm sections potentially providing better results when amyloid deposits are limited.
