Upon removal, embryos are rapidly frozen in isopentane at -70°C. Sagittal sections (10 µm) are cut on a cryostat and mounted on Fisherbrand Superfrost^® or ProbeOn™ microscope slides (2 consecutive sections per slide). These sections are excellent for procedures requiring unfixed or minimally pretreated tissues, such as in situ hybridization.
