Biological Technologist


Job duties:


  • Prepare animal and human brain tissues for testing, including paraffin embedding and sectioning with a microtome or a cryostat;
  • Perform various immunohistochemical stainings following specific procedures and protocols;
  • Examine stained sections from human or animal tissues to ensure that the quality of the staining meets our highest standards, and assist in the conduct of research, including the collection of information and samples acquired from experiment;
  • Perform quantitative analysis of cellular elements on stained brain sections with a state-of-the-art computerized stereology system, and analyze experimental data and interpret results to write reports and summaries of findings;
  • Enter data obtained from analysis of tissue samples into computer for storage;
  • Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment used in quantitative and qualitative analysis, such as computer-controlled stereology system, cryostats, microtome, and pipettes; record daily instrument conditions and perform preventative maintenance on instruments according to prescribed protocols;
  • Establish and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure the accuracy of laboratory results.

Job requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Biological Technology or a closely related discipline is required;
  • Ability to multi-task and adhere to strict deadlines;
  • Must be authorized to work legally in the United States.





 Job duties:

       Accounting (90%):

  • Perform diversified accounting, compilation and review assignments; demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional standards. Specifically,
  • Analyze financial data and assist in the preparation of financial reports applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Other Comprehensive Basis of Accounting (OCBOA);
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and general ledger accounts that document business transactions; prepare monthly revenue report and conduct A/R aging report;
  • Maintain adequate Accruals, Prepaid and Reconciliation Schedules;
  • Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities and capital, and assist in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other reports summarizing current and projected financial information;
  • Assist in the performance of reviews with an emphasis on inquiry and analytical review of financial data such as accounts receivables, accounts payables, billing, contracts etc.;
  • Prepare financial due diligence report; compare revenue and overhead expense within industry level and generate a report with projection of the profitability and cash flow for the business; analyze the potential opportunities and challenges for its future growth;
  • Perform other general accounting and analytical duties as requested by the Chief Financial Officer;

    Tax (10%):

  • Maintain asset records for Property Tax assessments and preparation of necessary forms for filing;
  • Preparation of any necessary tax reporting requirements at all levels including local, county, state, and federal;
  • Preparation of all necessary income tax worksheets and reconciliations for filing of tax estimates, tax returns, and other tax reporting requirements.
